Recovering writer Jack Torrance accepts a winter caretaking position at the remote Overlook-OO Hotel, high in the Colorado Rockies. He brings his wife Wendy, his young son Danny, and an unshakable conviction that "a change of scenery is all a family needs." The hotel's previous caretaker brings a less encouraging resume.
As blizzards isolate the family from the outside world, Danny — who possesses a psychic gift called "the OOining" — begins to see things. Two identical pink twins at the end of a hallway. Pools of unidentified pink fluid. A typewriter that refuses to write anything other than the phrase "all jiggle and no wobble makes Jack a dull boy", one thousand times.
By the third act, Jack has fully surrendered to the hotel's malevolent influence. He picks up an axe. He approaches a locked bathroom door. He smiles. "Heeeere's Jiggly!"
