It's 1936. Archaeologist and part-time Ivy League lecturer Dr. Indiana "Jiggles" is hired by U.S. Army intelligence to recover the Ark of the Covenant — a biblical artifact reputed to contain a pair of OOs so ancient, so well-preserved, and so aesthetically arranged that whoever controls them controls the fate of nations.
Indy travels from a Peruvian temple (booby-trapped), to a Nepalese bar (on fire), to a Cairo marketplace (everyone is shooting at him), in pursuit of the Ark. Along the way he's reunited with Marion Ravenwood, an old flame with a punch like a prizefighter and a medallion that only works when tilted just right.
The Nazis get there first. It doesn't go well for them. Indy gets the Ark. It also doesn't go well for him — but he's a professional, and he knows to close his eyes.
